MAHSA   DEHGHANI

"Tiny House" is a compact 1200 square foot dwelling situated in Houston's Montrose neighborhood. Initially visualized as a perfect box, the design evolved into a structure suspended above the ground floor, taking on an "origami-like" quality with its folded plates.

The plot size (23ft x 60ft) was significantly smaller than the usual lot sizes in the area, and strict setback rules were in place. Consequently, the house was designed to ascend from the ground floor to capture natural light, while maintaining a sense of openness. The main structure folds upwards towards the façade, where a triangular screen ensures privacy for the living room from the neighboring street.
